I am an industrial formulation chemist by trade and have sourced the highest quality nickel and cobalt spot testing kit.
Unfortunately, there is no current cure for a nickel or cobalt allergy. Avoidance is the only action, the nickel and cobalt spot test kit detects nickel and cobalt so you can avoid it.
The kit tests for nickel and cobalt in any metal. Testing of jewelry, watches, necklaces, rings, buttons, eye glasses, silverware and belt buckles can be done within 30 seconds.
Each kit is sufficient for 100+ tests.
The nickel spot test kit detects nickel down to 10ppm (parts per million). The sensitivity threshold of most nickel allergy's is above 11ppm.
The cobalt spot test kit detects cobalt down to the ppm (parts per million) level. The sensitivity threshold of most cobalt allergy's is above 10ppm.
Directions for use -
nickel spot test kit:
1. Take solution A and add a few drops to a cotton bud.
2. Take solution B and add a few drops to the same cotton bud.
3. Rub the cotton bud onto the test item.
4. A positive test for nickel will result in a pink colour appearing on the cotton bud
cobalt spot test kit:
1. Take the cobalt reveal solution and add a few drops to a cotton bud.
2. Rub the cotton bud onto the test item for around 1 min.
3. A positive test for cobalt will result in a colour change from yellow to orange appearing on the cotton bud.
Packaging
The nickel spot test kit will be packaged in 2 x 10ml dropper HDPE bottles and sent in a strong jiffy bag.
The cobalt spot test solution will be packaged in a 1 x 10ml dropper HDPE bottles and sent in a strong jiffy bag.
