This auction is for 20g of extra pure (>99.9% purity) Germination Aid (Potassium nitrate, chemical formula KNO3) which, when in a water solution, is used as a germination aid for seeds.
I am an industrial chemist by trade and also a keen gardener and I have formulated the highest grade of potassium nitrate.
20g of germination aid will be enough to make 80L of solution, enough for several seasons! The powder does not go off and can used from season to season.
Directions for use:
Make a 0.025% w/v solution of potassium nitrate in water. To do this take ΒΌ of a level teaspoon and add to 4L of water. Stir with a cane until the solid has dissolved. This solution can then be stored and used when required. Use the made up solution during that growing season.
Add the seeds to a container (an old yogurt pot is good for this) and cover the seeds with the solution. Soak for 2-3 hrs and then pour off the liquid leaving the seeds ready to plant. Plant the seeds immediately.
For larger/harder seeds (such as banana seeds) increase the concentration of the solution to 0.05% w/v, i.e. Β½ a level teaspoon in 4L of water.
Packaging
The 20g of germination aid (potassium nitrate) will be in a double resealable plastic bag and sent in a Jiffy bag.
