This auction is for a 200ml solution of Fungus Gnat treatment concentrate.
200ml Fungus Gnat concentrate will make 1.8L of treatment when diluted with water to the correct concentration for use.
Those annoying little flies which pester you from your houseplants are commonly called peat flies, also known as fungus gnats/scarid flies. The larvae from this fly eat the tender roots of your houseplants which can end up killing the plant.
Every peat fly female can lay around 100-200 eggs in ideal conditions. These eggs hatch into larvae which seek out the fine roots of the plant, causing damage and distress to the plant. The larvae become adult flies in around 14-18 days, ready to start the life cycle again.
When small flies are seen gathering on the surface of the houseplant, or begin to fly when disturbed, then it is time to use the treatment. The treatment kills the larvae at the source (i.e. where they are in the soil eating the roots of your houseplant) and hence stops the life cycle of the peat fly.
Directions for use:
Wear gloves and suitable eye protection. Take 25ml of the peat fly treatment and into a small watering can or hand sprayer. Add 200ml of water and mix well. Ensure the soil of the houseplant is dry before adding the treatment. Pour/Spray onto the surface soil of the houseplant, ensuring good coverage (around 30-50ml for a medium sized pot). The soil may fizz for a few minutes. That's it the treatment is complete. Repeat after 1 week if any further peat fly adults are seen.
A smaller amount or greater amount can be made as per your requirements, just follow the same proportions. Unused solution can be stored in a cool place (< 20oC) and used within 2 months.
Packaging
The peat fly treatment concentrate will be supplied in a HDPE heavy duty bottle and sent in a jiffy bag
